NU - G
Nu "G" Album Review
Excellent for non-musicians
I just listen to music, don't play an instrument or read music. This set greatly helped me know just WHAT was making the sounds I heard, and what the various instruments are capable of doing and the range they have. I still can't distinguish a violin from a viola very well---but I'm getting better. Overall I'm quite satisfied and plan to see if my grandchildren are interested.

JANET AND NELLY - CALL ON ME
Janet and Nelly "Call on Me" Album Review
Welcome return from Janet
I heard "Call On Me" on the radio and loved it. It was a different direction for Janet, having more of an urban feel to it. When I heard Janet was going to work with Jermaine Dupri I was a little scared because I'm used to having her work with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who gave her the signature Janet sound we all know and love. Thankfully it captures the Janet sound that we like but gave it a new urban edge. Nelly sounds great in this song too. There is good chemisty between the two artists. "Call On Me" is part of the amazing "20 YO" which is one of Janet's best albums yet. I highly reccomend this CD-single if you like Janet.

LYFE JENNINGS - THE PHOENIX
Lyfe Jennings "The Phoenix" Album Review
When it's better to don't judge a disk by its cover
Beside a curious cover artwork, this album provides some of the more good R&B songs of the recent past. I agree about the fact that some tunes are rather far from the level of the album's peaks, but the highlights are truly remarkable. I'm looking forward for Lyfe's upcoming album, just to discover if he will continue his artistical growing.
The single "S.E.X." has been one of my favorite R&B songs of 2006. A tune where good arrangements and interesting lyrics are merged in a very effective way. I'm really upset when i think about the recent and tragic death of LaLa Brown. I loved her vocal performance on "S.E.X.", and i thinked that she could become a very good R&B singer. It's too sad to think about the loss of a so young and promising artist. R.I.P.
