NEW RIDAZ - NEW RIDAZ
New Ridaz "New Ridaz" Album Review
Loved It
I loved the album as with the previous NBK/NB Ridaz albums. This new album and group sounds good with the added female vocals of Angelina makes for a great sounding album. The songs that I personally liked are Special Girl (too bad they didn't put the spanglish version on the album also), For Everything You Do, Do You Think About Me, I.O.U. (original & the remix), and Sometimes I Cry.

K-ROB - K-ROB
K-Rob "K-Rob" Album Review
The Priest really are the Metal Gods
I had almost given up on good metal becoming a reality in my lifetime (with a few rare exceptions of course) till the Priest reunited. I held my breath and hoped for at least a savory morsel from the past. That's not what I got: Judas Priest came back from the dead and kicked my arse! This is easily a collection of some of the best work of any metal band of any time...period. Judas Priest is REAL, and it shows in the music. It's classic Priest while being on the cutting edge of great metal.
Any metalhead must, and I repeat must own this CD. The DVD side reaffirms why metal isn't just great music to me but a way of life; it's an attitude about life and it's being part of a family (with a few disfunctional members like all families!).
Buy this CD and be prepared to raise your devil fist and be blown away.
All the best, MLC

W ELLINGTON FELTON - OUTROSPECTIVE
W Ellington Felton "Outrospective" Album Review
MUST HAVE
Anything you can get that W. Ellington Felton has put out there is a must have. He is soooo underrated mostly because he hasn't bought into the 'retail' 'celebrity' game. He's a smart, thoughtful, soulful writer/poet/singer - his music and spoken word are truly the best out there! All you have to do is really 'listen'!
BABY WASHINGTON AND THE HEARTS - THE J AND S YEARS
Baby Washington and the Hearts "The J and S Years" Album Review
Essential Collection For Early Girl Group & Female Doo Wop Enthusiasts
Before the Chantels came to fame there were the Hearts, another group of young teens from Harlem and the Bronx. Under the management of Zell Sanders, the group had rotating membership and morphed into affilate groups including the Jaynetts of "Sally 'Go Round The Roses" fame.
The original group of girls are known mostly for the hit "Lonely Nights" which featured Joyce West on lead. However, this collection includes subsequent releases from later groupings of Hearts that featured most notably Baby Washington. Washington, of course, would later go on to solo fame with several R&B hits inlcuding "The Time" and "That's How Heartaches Are Made." Here we hear a younger but clearly recognizable Baby Washington doing lead on several songs, including the bluesy "Congratulations Honey," one of the strongest tracks on the compilation.
A bigger treat are the other tracks featuring the lead vocals from other group members from subsequent Hearts line-ups including Lezli Valentine, Ruth Artis, and Cynthia "Hartsy Maye" Cox, all of whose lead tracks have long been unavailable on cd. The collection also includes "Dear Abby," which was long overdue for inclusion on a compilation.
The cd includes lengthy liner notes featuring interviews with Baby Washington, Louise Harris Murray, and Betty Harris (later of "Cry To Me" fame). The cd is a must for fans of 50s female R&B, Baby Washington, and the early girl group sound.
